Kindergartners have been learning about artist Piet Mondrian. He is famous for his geometric De Stilj paintings using the Primary Colors!
We lost our big beautiful art room this month, and if I've learned anything going classroom to classroom on a cart it's "Be prepared for plan A, plan B.... and plan C!" Luckily I was ready this week when arrived to learn that projects were sent home before they were done! So, on to plan B. Students recreated mini-Mondrian inspired vertical and horizontal lines over stencils of fish and butterflies. We colored and cut and they turned out amazing!
