First Grade Self Portraits: Looking out the window in Fall!

First Grade just finished up some self-portraits.  We looked at some famous artist's self-portraits and discussed how they studied their features in mirrors and practiced drawing what they saw.  We chose construction paper for our faces and drew very carefully.

Next, we constructed our bodies, hands, and finished off our window.  We were working very hard on careful cutting and gluing skills.

Finally, first grade looked at pictures of fall leaves, looked out the window, and looked at drawings of different types of leaves.  We constructed our own leaves and glued them to the outside of the window.

See more of these on our website on Artsonia.com.
