Kindergartners looked at some very famous artists' self-portraits. We discussed the realism of Edward Hopper, the colors and grids of Chuck Close, and Pablo Picasso's comic looking self-portrait.
Next, we studied our own faces very carefully in mirrors. We started nice and big on our paper and drew our own faces. We got to trace, color, and add hair.
Kindergartners are just figuring out their names and alphabets. For the second part of our project, we went on a hunt to find the letters of our names to tag our self-portrait. It was great to see the class figuring out what they needed and what went where!
Finally, we put them all together! Great job K.
