Fourth Grade 19th Century Architecture Unit - Frankentecture and Painted Ladies

Fourth grade started the year learning about 19th century homes.  We looked at examples of Victorian architecture, Painted Ladies, and even homes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.  Fourth grade discussed similarities and differences in architecture.  We picked out what makes these buildings unique and recognizable.

Our first sketchbook project involved cutting out several elements from pictures of 19th century architecture.  After a nice collection, we put them together to make one super 19th century building.
